Renovation Project–Chapter 5: Drywall

Now that the second floor has a skeleton, nervous system, internal organs, and insulation, we needed skin!  From 10-26 August, Kevin Smith and his assistant Aaron came out to put up and finish Phase Five of our project–drywall.  This project is getting more exciting as the days and weeks progress.  I haven’t seen walls upstairs since I tore them all out (which has been a long while; a REALLY long while).

Dave also put up the cement board necessary in the showers in the master and guest baths.

Enjoy the photos, and stay tuned for more renovations tomorrow!

Many blessings,

Lorraine

What's with the purple sheetrock? It's waterproof and used in bathrooms--the amazing things I have learned!

After putting up the drywall, Kevin and Aaron mudded all the seams and nail holes. Then the surfaces had to be sanded–whew! It’s MY task to prime all the surfaces.  Fun at first, but now it’s pretty much YUCK!  Perseverance, Lorraine, perseverance!  My superior hubby did most of the ceilings (thanks Honey Bunny)!
